7.1 Use a Natural Text-to-Speech Engine

This tutorial uses many Text-to-Speech prompt items, some of them are fixed text and others are dynamically generated text. If you are using the shareware edition of Voicent Gateway, the TTS engine included is a free one from Microsoft. One big problem for the Microsoft TTS engine is that its computer generated voice is hard to understand.

Voicent offers a much better Natural Text-to-Speech engine, with both male and female voices. These voices have much better 'human' quality and are easier to understand. The natural TTS engine is fully integrated with Voicent Gateway.
