Only 2% in U.S. use VoIP to telecommute

Despite fast-emerging VoIP advances, giving companies opportunities for cheaper and more flexible communication systems, a report earlier this year found that only about two percent of the U.S. workforce use VoIP advances to telecommute.

The study, conducted by the Telework Research Center, found that only about 2.8 million Americans work from home or telecommute via VoIP solutions.

Other studies have found telecommuting can save millions of dollars for companies and an average of more that $6,000 per year for workers who telecommute.
