Challenge dismissed, Voicent continues to ‘patrol’ the clean streets of Hollywood

Yesterday, the City of Hollywood, Florida’s use of Voicent’s BroadcastByPhone software was the subject of an Associated Press story. Produced for print and broadcast media by AP’s Miami Bureau, the story received national publicity.

Coincidentally, on the same day, the Broward County Sun-Sentinel newspaper was reporting on a challenge to the legality of City of Hollywood Mayor Peter Bober’s program using Voicent’s BroadcastByPhone to barrage the owners of illegally posted signs with phone calls.

The verdict: Keep on calling!

The complaint, filed with the city’s ethics commission, was dismissed for “legal insufficiency.”

The commission noted that the inexpensive and highly-efficient program was not unethical.
