A Mobile Originated (MO) message, meaning an SMS or text message sent from a mobile phone. These messages are sent by a mobile subscriber by creating and sending the message from within their mobile phone. Mobile-Originated SMS (Short Message Service) is the ability to send short text messages from a phone. Both the phone and the carrier's network must support this feature for it to work. Messages can be sent to other phones by phone number. Many phones also allow sending messages directly to e-mail addresses. Although thus is very common, this still requires network support. MO billing can increase consumer confidence in markets, knowing that they will only be billed one-off, which reduces complaints.
