What is a Predictive Dialer?
An automated phone dialer that connects only live answers to agents. The dialer usually makes calls on multiple lines and either skips answering machines or leaves a message. When a live person is detected, the software hands the call to you or an agent, then helpfully pops up an information window with information about the person.
What is a Power dialer or Speed Dialer?
A semi-automatic dialer that you operate by pressing keys, which dial numbers, play pre-recorded messages, transfer calls or record conversations.
Why Use A Predictive Dialer?
Predictive dialing saves you incredible amonts of time. All dialing, listening to the phone ring, dealing with answering machines, disconnected lines, no-answers, etc., is done by the software. You or your agents only get involved if a live person answers. By using a predictive dialer, agents can better focus on phone conversations with customers.
What's different about Voicent's Agent Dialer predictive dialer?
Because it is software-based, our predictive dialer doesn't require expensive phone equipment or lines. Voicent's predictive dialer is easy to setup and use, is easily scalable to the size you need and can easily grow as you grow.
Tell me about Agent Dialer's Screen Popup
Predictive dialers normally connects the live answer call to an agent. Voicent's Agent Dialer predictive dialer software connects the call to an agent's computer. The agent uses a computer headset to talk.
As soon as a call is connected, a popup is displayed on the agent's screen. The window includes the caller's name and number and can be used to enter notes about the caller. In subsequent calls, those notes will be available to agents.
We have help content both online and within the program. The following content is also covered in the Voicent Agent Dialer Setup Guide, which can be opened under the program's main Help menu.
The setup mainly involves:
installing the Predictive Dialer on a Dialing Computer
Download Voicent software installer and follow on-screen instructions to install Agent Dialer software on a computer. This computer will make all the outbound calls.
configuring the phone service
Voicent software can use several phone services: VOIP phone service (such as SkypeConnect, Vonage Softphone, Callcentric, any SIP trunk provider, etc); a PBX system with SIP extensions (such as Cisco, Avaya, Asterisk, etc); or a traditional analog phone service.
For testing purpose, it is easier to configure the software to use a VOIP service or a PBX's SIP extension. For more details, please see Quick Start Guide, which also comes with the installation package. If you have enterprise edition, please take a look at Enterprise Edition Setup Guide also.
Find the Voicent Gateway icon on the Windows taskbar. Click to open it and select Setup > Phone Call Setup Wizard from the program main menu. Follow the on screen instructions to complete the setup. For predictive dialing, you should choose Internet Phone Service or PBX’s IP extensions during the Wizard setup.
Plug in a computer headset (includes earphone(s) and microphone) so you can use the computer to talk on the phone.
Open Voicent Agent Dialer program, enter phone numbers, such as your cell phone number, in the Phone column. Please note you need to specify 1 for U.S. phone number, where 1 is the country code. You can set this dialing rule as a preference in Voicent Gateway main menu > Setup > Options, select Outbound tab, and click on the selection to automatically add 1 to all dialed numbers.
If you are going to use the software for a single user/agent, then that's it. Your setup is complete. To setup multiple agents, please click on the "next topic" link at the bottom of this page.
Open Voicent AgentDialer; enter your phone number, such as your cell phone number, in the Phone column. To call more than one number, simply type in names and phone numbers in the spreadsheet window.
Please note: you need to specify 1 for a U.S. phone number, where 1 is the country code. (You could set the dialing rule to automatically add 1. Please set it from the Outbound tab under Voicent Gateway main menu > Setup > Options).
From the program main menu, select Predictive > Start.
The system should call your number automatically. When your phone rings, answer the call and say “hello.”
The system checks for human voice over the phone line. If it detects a live answer, it should immediately show the following popup screen:
Once you see this popup screen, the phone call is connected to the computer. You should be able to use your computer headset to converse with the phone.
If you selected “Automatic release after the call is disconnected,” this dialog window will automatically close when either party hangs up the phone.
