Skype PBX

With the release of Voicent Flex PBX 1.0 software, it is now easy to setup a PBX system without any telephony hardware by using Skype. The following figure is a typical configurations for Skype PBX:

Please click on the image to see an enlarged picture.

Skype PBX Server

On the Skype PBX server computer, where Voicent Gateway software is installed and Flex PBX applications are deployed, multiple Skype instances can be started to make a multi-line Skype PBX system. These Skype instances can have SkypeIn numbers
so people can call these numbers use their regular landline or cell phones.

With a proper computer, Voicent Skype PBX can support up to 30 simultaneous lines (Skype instances).

Skype PBX Extension

It is recommended to run Skype and Voicent RemoteAgent software on a Skype PBX extension computer. Incoming calls are transfers to the extension computer using Skype-to-Skype transfer. Once a call is transferred, the incoming Skype line is freed and can be used to answer another call. If all target extensions are busy, new incoming calls are put in a waiting queue on the server computer. Please note the maximum number of calls can be in a waiting queue is the number of incoming lines, since each waiting call must be active on the server computer.

If an extension is set to forward to a cell phone, for example, then incoming calls are forwarded directly to the cell phone. There is no need to set up Skype and Voicent RemoteAgent for every extension.

Flex PBX release 1.0

Voicent has announced the release of Flex PBX 1.0 software. The software supports VOIP services as well as traditional analog phone services.

Though the whole PBX system can be implemented using Voicent IVR Studio, the goal of the Flex PBX software is ease of use. For example, the graphical user interface (GUI) of Flex PBX is specifically designed for PBX systems, while the GUI of IVR Studio is designed for more generic voice interactions.

To create a PBX system using Flex PBX, simply follow the following steps:

  • download and install Flex PBX software
  • set up extensions
  • set up auto attendant
  • deploy and setup operating hours

A typical PBX design can be created in just minutes.

A simple voicexml system

Hello, we need a voicexml system, a user will call a phone number and he will enter his identification numbner once he is logged he will enter 10 digits number and we need to store that informations in a database + the date and time of the call ! that’s all how much it will cost to us ?

Voicent IVR Studio is perfect for this application. We have many sample applications that are very similar to what you described.

Actually, you probably do not need to write a single line of code to have your system implemented. For example, there is a database action for IVR already builtin.

IVR Studio generates voicexml files automatically. All the files will be deployed on Voicent Gateway, a VoiceXML gateway software.

You could download the software and give it a try. A good place to start is the online IVR Tutorial.

If you only need a single line system, the price is $499 for a professional edition of IVR Studio. It also includes an inbound license for Voicent Gateway. If you need more lines, please take a look at Voicent online store
