Cloud based IP PBX enough?

PBXs (Private Branch Exchange) sort communications among the interior telephones lines of a private organization usually a business or a company, and also connect them to the public switched telephone network (PSTN) via trunk lines. The trunk lines can be analog PSTN lines, PRI channels over T1 or in the case of IP-PBXs, the more modern VOIP based SIP trunks can be used in conjunction with analog and PRI trunks.

Like any other cloud based services available today, now you can get your IP PBX functionality through a cloud service, either via a third party cloud based PBX service provider, or by organizing your own PBX solution in a secluded or public cloud. Well, first let us take a good look at the advantages of having the PBX in the cloud against PBX IP PBX in your office location with respect to numerous factors. Later we will discuss what software could help your IP PBX.

Let us first take a look between reliability and voice-quality which are the two most significant things to consider for voice. If the IP PBX is located at the same place where your office is located, your phone answering system solely depends on the timesyour office is available. Since your office will be more vulnerable and not all times on the go than a professional data-center, the section goes to the hosted PBX in terms of reliability. As an example your IP PBX can still forward calls to extensions like mobile phones or anay handled wireless communication device even if the power at the office may be down.

With a cloud based IP PBX, you have to rely on VOIP based SIP trunks as it is not as useful or sometimes not feasible to rely on analog voice trunks at a data center. However, the connectivity at the data center will be able deliver the best of all passage for your VOIP packets. The serious component therefore is the last mile, i.e. your WAN connectivity between the offices to the data center that will be hosting the PBX. Once you have the best broadband bonding appliance that can vigorously influence more than one broadband connection, your voice quality and reliability will be top notch.

In addition there is no question that the cloud based IP PBX will have the most scalable and flexible architecture, especially in multi-office environments.

Local Phone Best Consumer VoIP 2013

One of the biggest changes in International travel is the emergence of the smartphone. Whereas once upon a time it could be quite stressful heading to a foreign land when you don’t speak the language or know the geography, now a smartphone equipped with a data plan can make you something of a local instantly.

ITSPA Awards 2013 announced Localphone as the winners of the Best Consumer VoIP category. ITSPA – Internet Telephony Services Providers’ Association

Localphone is on the other hand another SIP service that can be used with Voicent software. A nice feature of localphone.com is that it gives you a free 5 minute phone call. It may also give free incoming phone number.

How does Localphone’s VoIP service work?

Localphone functions like a calling card service without the actual calling card. A user creates a prepaid credit account with Localphone, which they use to pay for all calls. A user dials into Localphone, inputs a pin tied to their account, and then dials the number they would like to call. For every minute that the user is on the call, Localphone deducts a certain amount from the user’s account. Rates vary by country, and calls to some countries can be less than $0.01/minute.

Localphone offers low international rates because they use local numbers. Every time a user dials a different contact, they are given a local number for that contact. So, for every international contact that the user has, they are given a different local number. For example, if a user lives in New York and wants to call their friend who lives in Germany, they will dial a New York landline number which will connect straight to their friend in Germany. That way, the call is treated like a local call, and does not carry expensive international rates. It’s still “technically” an international call, but rates are much lower with Localphone than traditional phone service.

Voicent Compatibility with LocalPhone

Localphone is one of the many VoIP phone services that Voicent software supports.  Most VoIP phone services offer free, stripped-down versions of their service.  That’s why a lot of people tend to use VoIP phones instead of the traditional ones.

Setup for Localphone VoIP service with Voicent softwate is very easy.  You all need to do is to enter Display name, SIP ID, Domain, username and password and press OK. EASY Localphone SIP setup!

Also from Localphone website, they have a list of devices guides to help set up your software or hardware VoIP device for use with Localphone.  Once set up with Voicent software, features like call forwarding are easy to configure. The settings are straight forward.
