Touch tone key not available from parent element

when i tried to validate my ivr application i got the following error message:

Error : (Element Ostenburg transition condition) To Favorability: Touch tone key not available from parent element

this is my first application

This error means the application/design does not have the touch tone key define. This error is best explained through an example.

Let’s assume you have a choice element and asking people to press 1 for something and press 2 for other. Then you need to define 2 chile elements, one corresponds to press 1 and the other corresponds to press 2. Let’s call then element 1 and element 2.

In order for the sytem to know which key it is expected to transition from the parent element to child elements, the touch tone key 1 and 2 must be defined in the child elements. Open element 1, in the Transition from parent element, specify the touch tone key (1) as the expected value.

You can open some of the included sample designed to see what you need to do.

Dialer plus auto email

I am seeking a dialer that has the capability of playing a recording to the answering party. At the end of the recording the caller would need to have the option of leaving a 30-60 second message that can be recorded and sent via email immediately as a sound file. Please advise if you have anything similar in mind that Voicent offers.

Yes, you can use Voicent BroadcastByPhone and Voicent IVR studio to do what you want. All you need to do is use IVR Studio to design your outbound call message that collects recordings and send out email. IVR Studio offers an easy to use GUI design interface. For your particular application, you can utilize the built-in Recording element and email action. For details, please download the software and check out the product walkthrough. The walkthrough can be accessed from the program main menu, under Help.

There are also sample designs included in the installation package. They can be accessed from the program main menu, under Library. You can also take a look at video demo online.

Setup voicemail for extension

This question is for FlexPBX. I’m having trouble understanding how I am supposed to set up a Voicemail extension. I just want to have the customer press a button and leave a message. I have scoured your website and the included documentation but cannot find any details.

Actually you don’t have to do anything. Once you setup an extension, the voicemail box is set up automatically. The only requirement is that the extension is setup to use Voicent RemoteAgent. If the extension is an external extension – calls transfer to another phone number such as your cell phone, there is no need to setup the voicemail since it will be offered by the extenal phone service.

Also I cannot find the menu for making changes to the Remote Agent preferences. The documentation indicates that I should be able to set up the call transfer option for RemoteAgent. However I cannot find that menu.

You must install Voicent RemoteAgent program on an agent’s computer. The RemoteAgent program is a free client program that acts as a telephone on a computer (a softphone). You could install the software on the same computer the gateway is running. If you do that, make sure to turn off the default one from gateway (Voicent gateway > Setup > Options > Call Tranfer tab > check “do not show pop up window on this computer”.

To configure voicemail preference for an extension, run the RemoteAgent program, login using the username/password you setup in FlexPBX for the extension. Select the Call main menu, then select Voicemail Options…

To check voicemail, click the Voicemail button on the RemoteAgent program. This button will be displayed only after you login. You can also check voicemail by call in to the extension and enter pound (#).
