How to setup inbound lines

I have downloaded your trial version. I also have an existing Skype account and a Skype number and my computer is connected to a DLS line. How do I connect via Skype the inbound calls to the Voicent pbx system.

To setup Skype for Voicent, please follow these steps:

1. Start to run one or more Skype instances
2. Restart Voicent Gateway to connect to the Skype instances
3. Make sure to set “allow access for vxengine.exe” from Skype

You can also see an online help video for starting Skype with Voicent.

If you have already deployed your PBX application, you can simply call your Skype account. Voicent gateway will automatically answer the call and start your PBX application.

IVR for checking fraudulent transations

I have an identity theft business. I would like an automated line set up so that a creditor can call the automated line and it then routes the call to the customer so that he/she can verify if the transaction is fraudulent. Would I be able to accomplish that through your service?

Voicent does not offer hosted IVR services, however, Voicent software, in this case IVR Studio, can be used to setup such a service. You will have to do some customization. For example, the IVR software needs to be able to get information (such as phone number) from your customer database. This requires some simple programming that most IT engineers should have no problem to accomplish.

To get started, just download the software and give it a try. Follow the product walkthrough that is included in the program.

24 line PBX hardware configuration

We are looking for Voicent Flex PBX enterprise edition solution (24 lines). Can you describe us the ideal hardware configuration for this.

Sure. For 24 lines, you need to get as much CPU processing power as possible. It is strongly recommended to get computers with at least duel processors and each processor with Quadcore CPU. You also need to get 4G memory. You also need enough internet connection bandwidth. For Skype, each instance/line requires 128Kbps for both up and down stream. Also, get a gigbit network adapter.
