Test Remote Agent using shareware

I want to test Agent Dialer before buying it. How can I test the screen popup on another computer?

Before release 6.4.1, you can test the screen popup only on the same computer. This restriction has been removed. If you are using release 6.4.1 or later, the shareware edition allows one agent to login from a remote computer. Here are the steps to test the remote screen popup.

1. On the gateway computer, select Gateway main menu > Setup > Options > Call Transfer

Make sure Use Screen Popup is selected. Please also select the checkbox labeled Do not show popup window on this computer. (By default, the gateway automatically starts a local agent if the checkbox is unchecked.)

2. Run Voicent installer on another computer, from the first window, select Client Programs, proceed to install Voicent RemoteAgent program.

3. Run RemoteAgent program. The first time it should looking for Voicent Gateway on the same computer. It will fail. Click Continue Anyway to ignore the error. Click the Hosts… button to setup the correct gateway computer.

Delete localhost from the list.

Click the Add button. If your gateway computer is on the same local area network (LAN), you can simply add the gateway computer name or its IP address. If you do not know the IP addres and computer name, go to the gateway computer and open the gateway program. The host name and IP address is shown on the gateway main window.

If you are trying to login from a remote location through the internet, such as login to your office from home, then you need to enter the IP address of your office. This is usually the WAN address of your office router. The network settings are outside the scope of Voicent programs. For general instruction, please select Windows Start > All Programs > Voicent > Enterprise Edition Setup Guide.

Select Auto connect when program starts.

4. From the RemoteAgent main window, type in any name, and login.

Once logged in, the gateway will show screen popup on the computer where RemoteAgent is running. If you use Skype, the phone audio will be automatically redirected to the agent computer with the screen popup.

5. Start AgentDialer on the gateway computer, start predictive dialing.
