Error: Failed to login to your VOIP account

When setting up your Voicent App, you may run into the following error:

“Error: Failed to login to your VOIP account”

This is most likely due to one of the following reasons:

  • Your VOIP username & password were not entered correctly
  • The domain you have entered isn’t correct

In order to fix this error you’ll need to alter your VOIP credentials so that they reflect the settings provided by your service provider. You can alter your VOIP credentials by going to the Voicent App and clicking Setup > Options > SIP. On this page you can either select Add to add a new VOIP account or Edit to edit an existing one.

It’s important to note that your web login password is most likely different from your VOIP password. If you keep getting this error after editing the credentials, contact your service provider and then tell them you need to obtain the VOIP credentials for your account. If they ask for the purpose of obtaining the credentials, inform them that you would like to use their service with a softphone. Provide X Lite as an example of a softphone if they ask.

As a side note, this is not a problem caused by the Voicent App. This is an error produced when your service provider cannot verify the credentials you have provided.
