Canadian VoIP firm has record revenue

Canadian desktop and mobile VoIP software products and solutions provider CounterPath has reported record Q-4 revenues of $3.2 million, up 20 percent over last year and 7 percent from the previous quarter. It reported a net loss of $800,000, or 2 cents per share, compared with a loss of $700,000, or 2 cents per share in the year-ago quarter.

For the full year, the company had revenue of $11 million, a 38 percent bump from the 2010 fiscal year, and a net loss of $3.5 million, or 11 cents per share, narrower than its net loss of $5.4 million, or 17 cents per share, last year.

The company said strong sales through the fourth quarter allowed  it to post record revenues, driven by high demand for desktop and mobile VoIP applications. License revenue in the fourth quarter was up 49 percent over the prior quarter, according to the company.

The company’s fiscal year ended April 30.
