Dialer Text-to-speech Prompt Type
I see in the help file that the “balance” can be added by the designer. How does the text-to-speach say the balance in dollars and cents? Do I need the professional license to use this feature of does the basic perform this task?
The Text-to-Speech will say the text “as is”, meaning it will try to say it in the most likely fashion. For example, if you have $10, it will say $10 dollar. If it is just 10, then it will say it is 10. For phone numbers like 2345678, it may say it as “2 million …” as a number. But if you specify it as “2 3 4 5 6 7 8″ then it will say each digit individually.
To be able to specify the type of a text prompt, the simple built-in Message Designer is not enough, you need to use Voicent IVR Studio. In IVR Studio, you can specify the type of a text. For example, if you specify “2345678″ to be a telephone number, then the system will say it as a telephone number.
To use the Message Designer feature, you need to have Professional Edition or Enterprise Edition.
