SMS Broadcaster
I purchased the voicent broadcast by phone last year. I do like it. I am wondering if you know of a program that will allow me to send text messages from my computer, and not using a GSM phone, just internet connection, or skype or something
If not using a GSM phone, then some service must forward the SMS message to a SMS phone. Luckily, almost all US mobile companies have email to SMS gateway, which forwards email as a SMS message to its subscribers. The good news is that these email to SMS gateways are free to use. For example, if you want to send a SMS message to 6501234567, an ATT customer, you can simply email to 6501234567@txt.att.net. The following are a list of all email to SMS gateways:
teleflip.com (Teleflip)
message.alltel.com (Alltel)
paging.acswireless.com (Ameritech)
txt.att.net (ATT Wireless)
bellsouth.cl (Bellsouth)
myboostmobile.com (Boost)
mobile.celloneusa.com (CellularOne)
mms.uscc.net CellularOne (MMS )
mobile.mycingular.com (Cingular )
sms.edgewireless.com (Edge Wireless )
messaging.sprintpcs.com (Sprint PCS )
tmomail.net (T-Mobile )
mymetropcs.com (Metro PCS )
messaging.nextel.com (Nextel )
mobile.celloneusa.com (O2 )
mobile.celloneusa.com (Orange )
qwestmp.com (Qwest )
pcs.rogers.com (Rogers Wireless )
msg.telus.com (Telus Mobility )
email.uscc.net (US Cellular )
vtext.com (Verizon )
vmobl.com (Virgin Mobile )
To broadcast by SMS, you can actually use Voicent BroadcastByEmail product.
The only drawback of this method is you must first know the mobile phone company of a particular phone number. You may email to all the gateways, and when you get a reply, update your list. But we are not recommending this way. The best is to ask your customers for their phone numbers as well as their phone companies.
