Appointment reminder: Listen to patient audio recording when using RDP

Question:

Using medical reminder over RDP client and server 2003 resuires one to disable audio redirection on the server through MMC: This will allow the audiogate to work but it creates another problem: One can not then listen to voice messages left by patientson local PC throug audio redirection: What is the solution ?

Answer:

If all the machines are on the same LAN, you can share the folder:

C:\Program Files\Voicent\AutoRemidner\appts

to access the audio file directly. It is a just workaround.

This problem should be solved when we introduce release 5, which is client/server based. All client can directly access the gateway on a remote server. Audio files will be fetched from and sent to the server automatically.

BroadcastByPhone auto dialer call logs

One advantage Voicent BroadcastByPhone has is its ease of use. There is no additional steps to take in order to see the call report. Everything is reflected in the call list spreadsheet window, in real time.

If your computer crashes for some reason, the software should not lose your call data and status. BroadcastByPhone has an auto saving feature that is on by default.

Sometimes, however, the BroadcastByPhone file (.voc) is not readable after your computer crash. In this situation, you can still get the call time and status using the following log files. They are under:

C:\Program Files\Voicent\Gateway\logs

and

C:\Program Files\Voicent\BroadcastByPhone\logs

Please note that after you reboot your machine, or have a new broadcast, these log files will be overwritten. Only one backup copy is saved.

Autodialer NOT play message for live pickup

This is a very common question:

How do I set the auto dialer to NOT leave the recorded message when someone picks up the phone?

Answer:

1) Use the message designer to design different messages for human vs. answering machine. For details, please select Help > Product Walkthrough… > Play different message for answering machine from the program main menu.

2). If you have release 4.5.0 beta or later, do not choose any audio files for human pickup. So when human pickup the phone, the system will hangup.

3). If you have release 4.3.1 or before, select a silent audio file for human pickup. The audio file may just contain half second of silence. So when human pickup, the system will play the silence for half second and hangup. (This is a work around for a bug in the system).
