Skype Connect says I have money in my account, but my calls are failing?

Skype can be confusing to navigate. It is possible to have money in your Skype Connect account but not have it allocated to allow for outgoing dialing. You should sign in through Skype Manager (not regular skype account login). It is under Business section of the Skype website.

Notice the amount of money in the upper right hand corner. If this dollar amount is zero, you will need to purchase more credit. This can be done by clicking the button next to the dollar amount labeled: Buy Skype Credit. Be forewarned, this can take a few days for verification in many cases, especially with newer accounts.

If you do have Skype Credit, it may not be allocated to make outgoing calls. To allocate funds to be used for out going calls, click on the ‘Features’ tab. In the main window click on Allocate Skype Credit. In the table presented, click on the dollar amount in the column ‘credit’.  A new tab will be presented and a transfer amount will be requested.  Input your desired transferred amount. In the event you find yourself doing this all the time, there is a auto recharge option tab to the right of the add credit tab.
