Gateway Speech Engine Installation

Question:

I get this message: Voicent Gateway Speech Engine has encountered a problem and needs to close.

1). Operating system must be Windows 2K/XP or later

2). The locale setting must be US, English language

3). Check your installation. You can certainly do a clean reinstall.

4). Take a look at the log file under:

C:\Program Files\Voicent\Gateway\logs\output.log

and if you see: m_pRecognizer->CreateRecoContext(&m_pRecoCtxt) failed

in the log file, then there is something to do with the Microsoft Speech engine installation.

5). Go to Windows Control Panel, select the Speech tab. Under the Speech Recognition tab, please make sure “Microsoft Speech Recognizer v5.1″ is installed and selected. If you see “Microsoft Speech Recognizer v6.1″ or other versions, you might have a conflict on these speech engines. Try to uninstall other speech recognizers.

Usually these speech engines are installed with other software product. One usual candidate is the Microsoft Office Suite (Office 2003, for example). If this is the case, try to uninstall the Microsoft Office. Then re-installed Office without the Speech components.

Auto dialer keeps calling back

Question:

When I answer the “test phone” the sample message plays. However, when I hang up it will continue to call back three or four times until I stop the Gateway. Is there a setting that I have missed that will prevent this from happening to real calls?

When a call is finished, the system will automatically set the status to “Call Made” and will NOT
call back. There is no setting to set either in order to have it working.

It is possible you have sevaral calls scheduled with the same test number, usually during testing. To clean up the call scheduler, click on the Voicent Gateway icon, then from the main menu, select Operations > Scheduled calls…; from the dialog window, choose Delete All.

Voicent download package and installation

Question:

I downloaded the basic telemarketing program and ran the setup but what shows up in the folder does not have a clickable icon to see a utility also no desktop icons appeared.

From voicent website, you will download a program called voicent4.exe or voicent5.exe, depending on the release. that program is the smart download program.

Run voicent5.exe, for example, allows you to download the whole Voicent program package. The program will install a desktop icon named Voicent SmartDownload. Click the download button to download. Once the download is finished (about 90M), click the Install Voicent Program button to install the package. Then follow the onscreen instruction to install Voicent Gateway and other applications, such as BroadcastByPhone, AutoReminder, and AgentDialer. You will see desktop icons installed.

To setup, please follow the Quick Start Guide.
