Network Timeout – DNS Server setup

hi, my broadcastbyphone is getting failed to connect to sip, and cSeq too small. Why?

If it appears that your network is running too slow for Voicent to successfully contact your SIP service, it may be your DNS server settings are incorrect. If you have only one specified DNS address (as opposed to obtain DNS server address automatically) this may slow down your network to the point that Voicent software will be unable to contact your SIP provider if you are calling multiple lines simultaneously.

DNS settings windowTo fix this, you will need to either select “obtain a DNS server address automatically” or specify multiple DNS server addresses to use.

Setting up JiveIP.net with Voicent Software

I am trying to use jiveip.net as my VOIP provider but keep getting a “failed to login to voip account” on the voicent gateway, what am I doing wrong?

JiveIP.net will provide you a pdf file that contains an extension, name, username, password and a domain.

In Voicent software, to setup those credentials you will first need to:

  1. Open the “Voicent Gateway”
  2. Select “Setup” & go to “Options”
  3. Select the “SIP” tab
  4. Select “Add”

In that form enter:

  • Display Name: Anything
  • SIP ID/User ID: Username
  • Domain: reg.onjive.com
  • Authorization User: Username
  • Password: Password

Select, OK, Apply, and OK. Your Gateway will restart and if it still gets the “Failed to login to voip account” contact JiveIP support and tell them to:

“Add your IP address to the white list to allow your computer to make & receive phone calls.”
