Trigger phone calls by email

I’m looking for a solution that would autodial and broadcast when a specific email is received by the system and then play a recorded audio file (the specific file would be updated each time a new dispatch is received)

This audio file though would be generated by a program which is in development by Comtekk that has been set to record when alert tones are triggered and sends an email out, storing the audio file both locally and including it in the email as an attachment.

Would your broadcast software be able to be tailored be triggered by alternate means (email) and play an audio file from a specific folder? So then the squad members (subscribers) would be notified of the call, be able to listen to the audio of the dispatch and further more be able to press the keypad to select that they are responding. Maybe even display that response output on a screen at the station. Just some ideas.

There is an open source project, www.emailtophone.com, that is based on Voicent gateway. It can watch an email address, and if an incoming email is detected, it triggers a phone call. You can listen to the email content also.

In your case, you need access the recorded audio file during the call. That can be achieved by using Voicent Gateway’s development platform. We have many tutorials and samples online. The best place to start is the Developer Section on our website.
