Scrub phone list

We have been evaluating your BroadcastByPhone application and need some help.

We are trying to use the app to dial a list of telephone numbers and to report the result of each call. The main objective is to scrub the phone list of invalid, disconnected or discontinued numbers. We do not want to engage in the call, every other result, ie.someone answering, voice-mail, busy or just ringing, is a good phone number.

Where do you document all the possible results of the call after it has been dialed, i.e. Call Failed: Line Busy, etc. and how can we isolate these bad numbers?

We are planning to upgrade to the full version as we need to call more than 20 telephone numbers.

To scrub a phone list as you specified, please do the following:

1. Create an empty audio file for the call message. So when someone picks up the phone, it will hangup

2. From Voicent Gateway main menu > Setup > Options > Advanced tab, set “Disconnect as soon as answering machine is detected”

3. From the same advanced tab, set “Detect disconnected number”

When a call is made to a disconnected/invalid number, the system will detect the initial invalid number beeps are played by your phone company. If it does, it will make the call status as “line disconnected”. Other call status is probably not relavant here. But if you want to know more, just seach “call status” in the knowledge base.

The beeps are standard for traditional phone systems. However, some phone companies no longer play the standard beeps. If that is the case, the system cannot detect the disconnected phone number. The only workaround is to turn on “Record initial Dialing” from the gateway Help menu, then after the broadcast, listen to the recorded audio files to see which numbers are invalid.

Folder for recorded audio files

When I use the message designer and use the option for the person to record a message, can you tell me where it is stored on the computer? I want to be able to give the message to the client. Thanks

All recorded messages will be saved under the same folder for the program. For example, if you use BroadcastByPhone, the default program folder is: C:\Program Files\Voicent\BroadcastByPhone, and for AutoReminder, it is C:\Program Files\Voicent\AutoReminder. If you have enterprise edition, these messages are saved on the client computer, not on the server that runs Voicent gateway.

The message folder is under the program folder, and is organized by year, month, and date.

Auto dialer starts over

We are evaluating your BroadcastByPhone (shareware edition) product and have it up and running. The functionality we need is for the system to call everyone on the broadcast list over and over. So when it finishes the last person on the list to immediately start over. Does this or another product you sell have this feature?

Depending on your situation, such as the size of the call list, there are several options you can try:

1. Use broadcast retry feature. You can set this from Broadcast main menu > Broadcast Options. However, the retry feature is only for calls that are failed, such as line busy etc.

2. Use recurring broadcast. A recurring broadcast will call the same list at specific intervals, such as daily. If you have a list that takes about a half a day to finish, you can set 2 daily recuring broadcast with the same call list (different .voc files but with the same phone numbers).

3. Simply copy paste the call list multiple times in the same .voc file. So even the broadcast do not start over, it in effect does the same thing.
