Question:

I have tried to make several calls to my home phone and cell phone with this product and am using your voice modem and have not heard the phone ring once. Yet the status of the call says: call made: message left on ansewering machine. How could it say that when i have not heard the phone ring and it HAS NOT left a message on either phone.

From the log file, you seems to need to dial 9 to get the outside line.
Sometimes, you will need a little bit more time to get the dial tone
after the 9. Try to put more comma after the 9, such as “9,,,,,”

One way to know is to use a regular phone connect to the modem PHONE jack,
after you hear the modem dialing, pick up the phone and hear whether the
program dials before the dial tone.

The other thing to do is to turn on the “Record Initial Dialing” feature
on Voicent Gateway. Once it is turned on, you can hear what the modem “hears”
on the phone line. The audio will be save in the .wav file under
c:\program files\voicent\gateway folder. More information can be found on
