No VOIP Login Error

This error message is what Voicent software gets from your VOIP service or your PBX system. It usually means that your user name/password is not correct.

Please note that for some VOIP services, the web login password is not the same as the phone password (SIP password).

To fix the problem, open Voicent software, select Setup, Options from the program main menu, select the SIP tab. You should see your SIP account list there. Click the Edit button to open it.

  • Make sure “user name” is correctly entered.
  • If you use SkypeConnect, you can get your password under the “Authentication Details” page.
  • If you are use CallCentric, login to Callcentric account, under “view/preference”, and check your “phone password”.
  • Try to reset your password, wait a few minutes, and enter the new password in Voicent, try again.
  • Delete the user name field and enter it again. Sometimes it may just be a simple typo, or an extra space.
  • Delete the password field and enter it again. The password is case sensitive.
  • If you use copy-paste your user name and password, try to enter it manually.
  • Contact your VOIP service company to ask them why you cannot register with your soft phone using your account info. You can tell them you are using a soft phone called X-Lite and need your account information. They usually know more about X-Lite settngs then Voicent.

No Voicent Gateway(vgate) Service

Voicent Gateway is the main component of Voicent software. It is installed as a Windows Service on your computer and should be started automatically.

1. Make sure Voicent Gateway Service is installed

First, try to make sure the service is installed correctly. To do so, open Windows Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. If you do not see a service named VoicentGateway, you need to re-install Voicent software. If it is listed, try to start it manually by selecting the start link or button.

2. Make sure you have sufficient privilege

Since Windows services are started by the Windows operating system automatically, they must be run under the Windows System account. Thus, when installing the software, you must be an “adminstrator” in order to install and start these services.

Go to Windows Control Panel, select User Accounts. Make sure your user account has Computer Administrator listed. If not, please contact the user who has the administrator account.

3. Make sure you have sufficient privilege on the installation folder

Sometimes even you are the administrator for the computer, you may still have issue setting up Windows service. For example, the folder permission may not be set correctly on Program Files (x86), where Voicent software is normally installed. This could happen due to system restore or installing Windows multiple times by different users.

To see if that is the case, try to rerun Voicent software installer. make sure to choose a different installation folder this time. For example, you can try to install in on C:\Voicent.

4. Make sure your firewall program is not blocking Voicent software
