Voicent Gateway is a development platform. Voicent and 3rd party vendors can install applications to the gateway and further extend its capabilities.

The call scheduler is a pre-installed application on the gateway. Please do not remove it, otherwise you will not be able to schedule and make phone calls.

The application vendors should provide you with the instruction for installing their applications.

Failed To Verify License

On Premise Software Help Resource : Help TopicsFailed to Verify License Key

This is usually because your computer is not online. You license key must be
verified online before the gateway can continue.

  1. If your computer is online, please restart the gateway and try again.
  2. If the above does not work, try to reboot your computer and try again
  3. Check your firewall program to see if it is blocking Voicent Gateway
program (please see Help > Troubleshooting > Topic: Telephony Engine failed
    to start due to timeout
for more details about checking your firewall).
You can try to temporarily stop the firewall program and restart the gateway.

If your computer is in a corporate environment that uses web proxy for
accessing the internet, this error may happen for some configurations. Please
click the link to see article settings needed if you use web proxy.

What if I want my computer to stay offline?

If you use VOIP/SIP or Skype to make calls, your computer must be online.

If you use Voice modem and physical phone line to make call, it is possible
to start Voicent Gateway while the computer is offline. However, you must
request a Offline License Key. The problem with offline key is that you
cannot transfer it to a different computer
. To request a offline key, please
select Help > Request Product License from the program main menu, enter
everything as usual, and specify "need offline key" in the field labeled "Order
Number".

Failed To Open A COM Port

On Premise Software Help Resource : Help TopicsFailed to open COM port

This error means the COM port associated with the SMS line cannot be opened. The error maybe caused by:

  • The modem/mobile phone is not connected to the computer.
  • The modem/mobile phone is not recognized by the computer. Try to unplug the device, plug in again, and restart the software.
  • The COM port is currently used by other software. For example, the “Zoom 7.2M tri-band modem” software is running. If it is the case, right click on the Zoom modem icon on the Windows taskbar, select Exit. Then restart the gateway.
