BroadcastByPhone through Analog Phone System & using a system in Singapore.

Hi,

I am interested in the broadcast by phone system, some quries that I have.

Question: 1. I am planning to connect through the analogue phone system. Other than the Cisco modem, is there any other hardware that I need?

2. Can this system be used in Singapore?

1) The SPA3102 is all you will need to use an analog line.
2) Yes, this system can be used in Singapore.

I had following the instructions to setup using the SPA3102 to use the analogue line but it seems not to be able to detect when I tried to make a call.

In trying to make a test call, the service keeps telling me the following:
“The phone number that you have entered does not have a valid voip format 1-xxx-xxx-xxx where 1 is the country code for usa or canada”

How do I get it to make calls in Singapore?

Before the phone number you are dialing, you will need to add the country code for Singapore.

Ang Mo Kio +65 645
Ayer Rajah +65 676
Bedok +65 644
City +65 653
Geylang +65 673
Jurong West, Tampines +65 678
North +65 635
Sembawang +65 675
Tampines +65 677

So if you wanted to call the north you would have it dial +65 635 1234567

Where 1234567 is the phone number and 635 is the area code.

How to make the phone number more audible and understandable in Text-to-Speech

Question: When we give a phone # for them to call back on, what is the best way to enter the text (using TTS) for the phone # to be most understandable. Sometimes the voice seems to rush and run the #s together.

Is it better to:

a. Put a comma or period after each number

b. Use the word and not the number (six instead of 6)

c. Or is there some other way to make the # be spoken a bit slow 2 4 0 9 9 9 1 2 3 4

Answer:

If you have Voicent IVR Studio, you can setup the prompt type as a phone number, and the system will take care of it.

If you want to do it yourself, then a number list with space in between usually works. But the effect depends on the TTS engine you use.

AVG Anti-Virus

AVG Anti-Virus and the Free Editions cause numerous problems with Voicent software. Even though the firewall claims to be “disabled” it can still interfere with Voicent. Some of the symptoms users experience are: No audio, a lot of failed calls, and a slow dialing system. Within the “Advanced Settings” you have the ability to specify “Exceptions” for AVG. In that “Exceptions” section you can add the entire Voicent folder to it, select the “Exclude folder(s)” option and then navigate to your Voicent installation folder. The stock location of the installation folder is
C:\Program Files (x86)\Voicent\

Once that exception is added your firewall, Voicent software should operate normally. If you still experience problems with your Voicent setup, please disable AVG Anti-Virus temporarily until next restart and try your Voicent system again.
