Two appointment reminder calls at the same time

What happens if 2 different appointments are scheduled at the same time, and both are set to make a reminder call for 1 day before the appointment, and you only have a 1 line license? Will it still make a reminder call for both appointments, just one after the other, or will 1 be lost?

Yes, Voicent AutoReminder will make both calls even though you have only one line.

There is a built-in outbound call scheduler. If there is a conflict, one call will be rescheduled for later time when the line is freed. For appointment reminder calls, the latest time a reminder call will be rescheduled is the appointment start time. In your case, if you scheduled the call 1 day before, you have plenty of time for the call to go out.

Play message immediately after phone pickup

I want to disable the answering machine detection, How can this be done? I was wondering if upgrading to 7.x would give me the requested functionality. This feature request was making broadcastbyphone able to start playing back it’s message immediately after the phone has been picked up. If this is the case, I would like to upgrade our 6.x installation to 7.x and buy an additional 7.x license for our secons site.

Yes, in release 7, we have made the change in the “most aggressive” detection mode. It is guaranteed to play in the message within 3 seconds of phone pickup, regardless of whether there is human voice or not. This behavior is different from release 6, where the message will only play after human voice, live or answering machine, is detected.

The above feature should work well for VOIP (SIP based or skype) because there is a distinct signal when a phone is answered. This feature may not work that well if you use a voice modem and analog phone line, where there is no such signal. But in any case, download release 7 to a new computer and give it a try.

Windows remote session manager

need help, Last night we remotely (using Windows Remote connection) logged into the computer with the voicent gateway, AutoReminder and Skype , everything looked ok, but not outbound calls were made. The report said “Line occupied , sound I/O error.” The Skype line also indicated that there was an error

What is the problem? when logging in from a remote computer using the windows remote session manager?

This is because when you login from a remote computer using Windows RDP, the audio is forwarded to the remote computer by default. When skype tried to call, it cannot find any audio device.

It is acutally easy to solve this problem. When you login, choose the option not to forward audio. For more details, please see working with Windows RDP
