Gateway will not start

I purchased the broadcastby phone yesterday. I’ve installed everything on a Windows 2003 server. The Gateway had started at one time, but now it fails to start. The windows service starts but the vgate in the task bar fails to start. How can I go about finding why the gateway will not start?

If you see gateway icon on the Windows taskbar, then click on it to open it up. (You may need to wait for a while before the gateway menu is operational) You should see which component it fails to start. There is usually a link below to indicate the error. Click on the link will lead you to the Help file related to the problem.

If you do not see the gateway icon, go to the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Voicent\Gateway\logs

Take a look at the error message or send the logs to Voicent support.

Web based appointment reminder

we are looking for an AutoReminder with the following features:

1. Fully featured AutoReminder accessed via a web site.
2. Customizable website.

please advice us with the suitable software version including pricing

Web access

Voicent AutoReminder can run as a web server, so you can access it from a browser. This means for the simpliest settings, just run Voicent AutoReminder will be enough. To turn on web access, select View > Setup Client Server… from the program main menu, select “allow web access“.

Web page customization

The default web access does not offer customization. But since AutoReminder offers full web (HTTP) access API, you can easily link your web site to AutoReminder. So customization should not be a problem. For more details, please see appointment reminder web integration

In terms of pricing, that will depend on how many lines you need. You will need to get the Enterprise Edition for remote access. For details, please visit our online store

we are looking now for an autoreminder to be used via web access, I have downloaded the demo version but couldn’t find any botton called enable web access.

To enable web access, please open AutoReminder software, select View > Setup Client Server.

TTS output format

I am using the 4 line BBP Pro version. Everything works and wave file is created okay(I testetd it). But Skype is only playing static. It dials fine. I have tried the Soundblaster and the Windows default device setting on Control Panel. Both produce static. I am using Cepstral professional voice for telephony so it produces the right setting for the wave file.

Have you tried to call using the sample message included in the Voicent product? The other way to verify is to call using Skype directly and see if the audio is OK. Or try one line first to see if
the bandwidth is the issue.

I finally figured it out. Although I was using a telephony voice, somehow my text to speech utility had reverted to a default setting on the converted wave file that is not what will work with Skype. I changed it and the voice is coming through load and clear.

You have a great product. When are you going to support the latest version of Skype (beyond 3.8)?

Please see Skype for SIP
