Magic Jack autodialer

does autodialer/predictive dialer program work with majic jack

Yes. But unlike other VOIP services, you must use a voice modem and connect it to MagicJack in order to make phone calls.

Voicent program works with analog phone line by using a voice modem. A voice modem is a regular data/fax modem that is also capable of playing and receiving voices over the phone line. For more information about voice modem, please see Modem FAQ

Voicent program works with almost all standard base service providers directly without the need for a modem or physical phone line. These services, such as SkypeConnect, Callcentric, Ringcentral, Vonage with Soft phone feature, all support the SIP standard. These days, almost all internet based phone services (VOIP service) are SIP based. To set up a SIP based service for Voicent, all you need is your account information (aka SIP credentials), such as user name, password, etc.

Actually, almost all VOIP services are SIP based, including MagicJack and some cable companies’ phone service. However, these service providers do not open their account information, so you cannot configure Voicent software to directly connect to the service. In the case of MagicJack, you must use a voice modem and connect it to MagicJack device use a phone line. (There are some internet postings regarding getting the SIP credentials for MagicJack. But we are not sure it is allowed based on MagicJack’s service agreement).

For more details about SIP, please see Use VOIP for Voicent Software

Configure 8 line Enterprise edition

we have the enterprise addition and are configuring it for 8 users
1. does the voicent software have to be loaded on each computer or 1 server and 7 hosts? if so how?
2. We are using Skype does this need to be loaded on each computer or just the server.

1. Install Voicent software (gateway and BBP) on a powerful server that runs all the outbound calling. And run 8 or more Skype account/instances, each account serves as a line. Please see hardware requirement when using Skype for more information.

To run multiple Skype line/account, please see Skype FAQ #4

If you do not need to setup call transfer, or you want calls to be transferred to landline or cell phones, then that’s all the software installation you need to do.

2. To setup call transfer to an agent’s computer, you can either:

a. use skype-to-skype call transfer

Install Skype on each agent’s computer.

b. use screen popup with Skype

Install Voicent RemoteAgent software and Skype on each agent’s computer; then configure RemoteAgent to use Skype account for call transfer. That’s the preferred mode. Agent should see a popup screen and calls transferred to the running instance of Skype on his computer. For more information about installing RemoteAgent, please select Windows Start button > All Programs > Voicent > Enterprise Edition Setup Guide.

I have configured the users to all recieve calls which I can recieve if I transfer from skype to Skype but how do I get the voicent pop up message to work on all users screens?

To use screen popup and skype, please do the following:

1. Set call transfer mode to screen popup

Please open Voicent Gateway, select main menu > setup > options & call transfer, and select use screen popup

2. On each agent’s computer

2.1) Install Voicent RemoteAgent

Run Voicent installation package, from the first Window, choose “client programs”, click Continue; then select RemoteAgent to install

2.2) Install Skype

2.3) Configure RemoteAgent

Run RemoteAgent. The first time it will fail since it tries to connect to Voicent Gateway on localhost. Click Continue anyway to continue, then select the Hosts… button. Delete the “localhost” from the list, and add the host name or IP address of the computer that Voicent Gateway is running.

Select from main menu > Connect > Call Transfer Options, and select “Transfer to Skype instance on this computer”.

3 Every time an agent is ready to work, just run RemoteAgent and login.

Add lines to auto dialer

I use Skype and have paid for SkypeOut ( provides me with a phone number to call and receive calls from and to landline phones) I will be purchasing the Professional Edition as I don’t think i’ll need remote access. My question is this:

1) Do I purchase additional phone numbers from Skype for multiple calling?

Yes, it is strongly recommended especially if you have the unlimited skype subscription plan. If you just have SkypeOut credit, it might not matter since you are charged on a per minute basis.

2) Do i need to purchase a multiple line Professional Edition?

Yes. One thing you might want to consider is the Enterprise Edition. Since Skype has changed its fair usage policy, the unlimited calling subscription has a daily limited of 50 different phone numbers for outbound calls. You might need to use the “line rotation” feature of the Enterprise edition to automatically switch Skype lines. For more details, please see another KB article about the Skype fair usage policy.

3) To add more lines, do I need more computers or can they run off one laptop?

It depends on the laptop. Please see hardware requirement when using Skype.

I’m simply intersested in delivering outgoing messages for insurance sales leads where the call receiver can listen to message and press 1 if they’d like more info or 2 to opt out of future calls.

4) Running just one phone line per day may not reach the numbers I’ll need to create steady appointments. Do I set myself up with virtual phone numbers from Skype? Can you clarify how go about setting this up?

The recommended configuration is to use multi-line Voicent system, and each line with a different Skype account. For each Skype account, you could get a virtual phone number, which is called SkypeIn number. For outbound calls, the only use of SkypeIn number is to be able to display that number as the caller ID. (You could associate a Skype account with your mobile phone also). To setup caller ID, simply go to your Skype account and set it up under Caller ID.

5) I’m planning on using a professional voice studio for clarity in my outgoing message. Can I just upload the .wav file?

Yes. But please make sure the .wav file format is PCM 8KHz, 16 bit, mono. If you try to convert it yourself, the audio quality will suffer. Also, please make sure the recording volume is loud enough. The sound effect over the computer microphone is very different from the phone.
