I have enterprise edition of Broadcast by Phone autodialer. I cannot schedule calls to run from my remote desktop, it states it cannot connect to the Gateway, however when I click start now they run.

This is because the call list is on the remote computer, and the gateway computer normally has no access to the files on the client/remote computer. To schedule broadcast, simply copy the call list file to the gateway computer, and schedule the call on the server machine.

If I run a Campaign from the remote desktop, I cannot shut down the remote computer or it will give shut down the outbound call campaign. Is this normal?

That is normal. The campaign/calls are sent from the remote computer whenever there are free lines available on the server. The server computer simply makes the call whenever a new call request is there.

Autodialer not start with Skype in manual mode

I started skype manually on gateway window but when try to activate voicent to call, the screen pop up said error no voice modem or skype therefore could not make phone call. I check skype to see if it work by calling my cell phone then it does fine by using skype alone.

You must start Skype before Voicent Gateway starts. If this is not the case, simply click the Stop/Start button on the gateway main window to restart Voicent Gateway.

If you have BroadcastByPhone autodialer running, close it and run it again.

Run multiple instances of Skype

You can run multiple instances of Skype, but they must be running under different Windows user account. This is a Skype limitation, not a limitation of Windows OS or Voicent software.

  • On Windows 2000/2003/XP, you can run Skype using a different Windows user account by the following two method:
  • 1. Right click on the Skype icon while pressing down the Shift key, select Run As… from the popup menu. Enter the windows user name and password to start Skype

    2. Select Windows Start Button > Run…, then type in the following command:

    runas /user:username "C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe"

where username is the Windows user account name.

  • On Windows Vista, the above methods are not working. This is again a limitation of Skype. To run multiple Skype instances under Windows Vista, please do the following:
  • 1. login to a Windows user account, start Skype, and sign in. Do not log out, instead do a Switch User.

    2. login t a different Windows user account, start Skype, and sign in.

After you started all the instances of Skype, you need to restart Voicent Gateway in order for the gateway to recognize all the running Skype instances.

If you anticipate heavy usage on your Skype account, please take a look at Blocked Skype Account.
