External SMTP server setup

Question:

I am getting “Failed to send message: 221 … ESMTP server closing connection”

Answer:
1). If you are using an ISP, please check its website for email configuration for email clients, such as Microsoft Outlook. Sometimes, your login name might be the name only, or name@company.com, or name%company.com.

2). Try to check “Secure Password” on and off to see which one works for your email server.

3). Sometimes your ISP might have port 25 blocking. You need to contact your ISP to unblock port 25 for you.

Autodialer dialing rule

Question:

The message broadcasted was not receive by all the sample recepient inspite of the fact that all the calls were successful. How do I resolve this problem.

Answer:

If your line connection is OK, one place to check is your phone numbers entered. Voicent program will dial the phone numbers exactly as entered. For example, if you enter 408-999-9999 in the BroadcastByPhone spreadsheet, the system will dial 4089999999. For long distance, you might need to add 1 in front of the number. Or if it is a local number, you should just enter 999-9999 without the area code.

If you do not want to change the number in the spreadsheet, you could set up the dialing rule. Please click on the Voicent Gateway icon, select Setup > Options. In the dialog window, please set the appropriate call control options.

Repeat broadcast message

Question:

If a call is answered can the recorded message itself be repeated?

Answer:

Yes. You can do the following:

1). Simply repeat your message in the audio recording

2). (Professional Edition). At end of the message, design a confirmation choice,
such as press 2 to replay the message. This should work for live human pickup.
For answering machine pickup, just include the audio file twice in your message designer.
