Call transfer using ATT Phone Line

Our computer (Modem) connects to AT&T phone line (This line is fax line and is not digital), but we wanted to transfer our call to the phone (this phone line is digital) service by XO Communications company. Would you please help us and tell us what code should we use?

The ONLY place to find out the keys to press for call transfer is your ATT support. But we can provide you with some general idea:

1. Make sure your phone service does offer call transfer service (some only offer 3-way calling)

2. Call your phone company to ask for call transfer code. Please do not mention Voicent since they will get really confused. Please ask them the following:

If you make a call to person A, and during the call, you want to transfer the call to person B (the XP number). You want A and B to talk, and disconnect your phone. Again there is no need to mention the digital line since it does not matter and will only confuse them more. Many phone company answers your question by searching some keywords from a support database.

3. Ask them what key you need to press on your telephone in order to accomplish that.

4. Once you get the key press code, please try to make a call transfer using your telephone (without Voicent)

5. If that works, enter the key code to Voicent gateway Call transfer setup. The modem simply simulates the key press for the call transfer.

So as long as you can get call transfer to work with a regular phone, you should be able to do it with Voicent.

Autodialer reporting

We currently use a 17-line autodialer. Before I try an eval of your SW, I need to understand reporting. We import the results of all of our dials into our data warehouse (dialer uses Access that we import into SQL Server). We then have a variety of reports we run. Most importantly, we can evaluate the effectiveness of calling our customers to determine retention of those we contact vs. those we do not. We\’ll therefore need to be able to have a unique identifier (policy number) associated with each call that we can then pull back and join to our policy database to analyze results.

Please describe how the data is stored, how we gain access to it programmatically, and what reports are built in.

There are two types of reporting for call status. The first one is basic call status, such as answered by answering machine, line busy, etc; the second one is the confirmation status, such as the keys pressed by the callee. All call status are reported in real time in the call list spreadsheet window.

Voicent does not provide extra call reporting like graphing etc, since it is easy to copy paste the call list and status to Microsoft Excel. Once the results are in Excel, you have all the fancy Microsoft tools for analysing your results.

Voicent BroadcastByPhone autodialer provides command line interface for software integration. You can export the call result as a CSV file.

If you have programming staff, it might be easier to interface with Voicent program using AutoReminder or Voicent Gateway, which provides more control on a per call basis. For more details, please see the developer section on Voicent website.

Record message using SkypeIn

I am trying to use skypein to record my message and your directions are not specific after you call the skpein number can you please be more specific

First, make sure Voicent gateway is connected to the running Skype instance. You should be able to tell how many Skype instances/lines are connected from the gateway main window.

1. Turn on call recording mode from Voicent application or Voicent gateway (Operation Main Menu > Recording…). Watch the video help if necessary.

2. Call your SkypeIn number. Do not click the Skype answer button.

3. Voicent gateway should answer your call. It will then prompt you to record.

4. Hangup the phone or press the # key to end your recording

I stiil need help recording a message using skype. I recorded a message and hit the # key ,now where did it go to so I can listen to it or change and where do you find it to select as amessage to be played? It is nowhere to be found and when I call in again Ican;t change it

When you turn on the recording mode, the first button from that Window is labeled Click Here to Specify the Audio File name. That’s where the recorded audio file is saved. You can use Windows explorer to find that file. It is a regular Windows .wav file, so you should be able to click on it to listen. If you want to change it, you need to record the message again.

If you use the default for your call list, simply select Broadcast > Start/Schedule from the program main menu, then select the audio file you just recorded. Or you can use the Message Designer to customize your outgoing message. For details, please select Help > Product Walkthrough from the program main menu.
